Taking students on a journey of discovery, innovation, and endless possibilities
Nurturing Knowledge through STEM Education

At IMCD UK, the belief that knowledge is power lies at the heart of everything we do. As a result, we have been working alongside STEM Learning to promote STEM education, particularly in our local community.

The IMCD UK STEM Fair saw six of our business units: Advanced Materials,Beauty & Personal CareCoatings & Construction, Food & Nutrition, Lubricants & Energy, and Pharmaceuticals prepared a variety of engaging and hands-on experiences for the students at Overton Grange School.

STEM (Science, Technology, English and Maths) is the driving force behind innovation, progress and change. These subjects are the backbone of groundbreaking discoveries and the inventions that shape our world. More than that, STEM opens the door to a world of opportunities where student’s imaginations can flourish, and their interests can pave the way for a fulfilling and rewarding career.
Empowering Future Innovators

Choosing a career in STEM puts you on a path to becoming a problem solver, an innovator, and a changemaker. Since IMCD started sponsoring the ENTHUSE Programme in 2022, our goal has been to encourage students to realise the potential they hold and show them the many different opportunities available to them should they choose a career in STEM.

In a bid to help the students realise the power they have to leave a positive mark on the world, our business units hosted a range of engaging activities and discussions at the one-day fair, from turning a biodegradable polymer solution (PvOH) into slime using naturally sourced mica pigments, to creating a beauty serum using an emulsifier,

The IMCD UK STEM Fair wouldn’t have been possible without the IMCD Cares Programme, a dedicated fund that aims to improve the daily lives of those around us and contribute to a better future for the communities we live and work in.
It is the IMCD Cares Programme that enables us to host events like this and provide students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of STEM.

Creating a Brighter Future, Together

Jo Lundie, Head of HR at IMCD UK said, “I am thrilled that we were able to host this special event, but it really was just a glimpse at what a career in STEM and IMCD UK can offer. Through initiatives like this, IMCD UK is not only providing valuable educational experiences but also contributing to building a talent pipeline that will drive progress and innovation.

The IMCD UK STEM Fair emphasised that careers in STEM encourage individuals to ask questions, discover new interests, and create a brighter future that aligns with their aspirations. By nurturing the students of today, we hope to unlock their potential and encourage them to shape a better world.”
