N-HEPTANOIC ACID
Oleris® n-Heptanoic Acid is a 100% biobased, 100% linear chain saturated odd-numbered fatty acid of vegetable origin, processed from castor oil, with a purity of ≥99%. It has a negative carbon footprint (ISO 14067) and is readily biodegradable, achieving 94.4% degradation within four days (OECD Test Guideline 301 A). It is used in the form of esters industrial lubricants (aviation, refrigeration, etc.), plasticizers for Triplex (laminated) glass, as a tracer for butter and in in the form of metalsalts for aqueous anticorrosion.
