Welcome to the Beauty Studio UK
The Beauty Studio UK, located in Milton Keynes, is designed for beauty brands, contract manufacturers, consultants, and multinationals who are looking to streamline their beauty and personal care product development process.
Whether you want to create a product in answer to a market trend or develop something entirely new, the Beauty Studio UK offers you the support and resources you need to bring new beauty products to market faster, with reduced risks and lower costs.
The Beauty Studio UK is currently equipped to aid in the development of skincare products, however, we are looking to expand the Beauty Studio UK's capabilities to include solutions for both haircare and toiletries.

Kathryn Davies
Technical Manager, Beauty & Personal Care, IMCD UK
As Technical Manager for the UK Beauty & Personal Care team, Kat is responsible for proactive formulation creation, managing the Beauty Studio and helping customers with technical queries. Kat joined IMCD in 2019 bringing a wealth of experience with her, including a degree in biochemistry and 12 years of formulating experience at contract manufacturers and consultants working with British beauty brands. Since then, she has developed the IMCD UK Beauty & Personal Care lab, as well as a creating a number of beauty boxes to showcase trends and innovative concepts to our UK customers.

How quickly can I get a prototype?
Each of our customers' journeys at the Beauty Studio are unique and specific to their needs. With our Beauty & Personal Laboratory under the same roof as the Beauty Studio and our streamlined process, you can leave the Beauty Studio with a finished prototype in just one day. It's an opportunity to benefit from our experts’ formulation tips on ingredient usage and behaviour.
What type of formulations can be created?
In the Beauty Studio, it is possible to create a wide range of formulations, from sprayable liquids to solid bars, all of which can be customised to your desired skin feel and sensory experience. Our extensive range of ingredients, both active and functional, is readily accessible, allowing you to make the best and most targeted selection.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before visiting?
No. Although we undertake an initial consultation prior to your arrival, the Beauty Studio process is extremely flexible, whether you already have a brief or not. When you join us in the studio we can use our bespoke digital tool, the Beauty Studio Selector, to guide you through the many different options available to you, from chassis to ingredient selection.
How do you ensure compatibility between a chassis and actives or sensorial enhancers?
While the digital tool helps you to find a chassis and ingredients that match your needs, our technical team is here to identify possible incompatibilities and address them, performing as many trials as needed to optimise your custom formula.
